A short story written by Tiyo

# Stray birds of summer came to my window to sing and fly away. And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, flutter and fall there with a sigh.
                                                -Tagore.   #

In the London city.
The wind was gentle but chilly when the Oxford street was teeming with pedestrians. It was the autumn season, I walked alone on the street, putting on a poker face so that nobody will notice that I was actually in a dilemma.

I felt that, the whole city has surrounded by yellow leaves and tedious atmosphere,as if the spring would never come again.

The overcast sky was darkened and it threatened to rain but the weather held. I pulled out my umbrella, opened it and went straight to the direction of my favorite cafe in the London city.
It's time to meet my old friend. I really miss her.

-

The colossal Big Ben was located at the end side of the bustling street,as I was waiting for the traffic light to turn green,a blonde hair boy approached me.

"Hello." The boy looked at me and in the second I discovered that he had a pair of startling blue eyes.
"Hi."I crouched beside him,smiling.
"This is for you."Out of my expectation, the little boy took out a Smiley badge, and handed over to me.

"Well, why are you giving me this?"I asked, but still I accepted the gift without hesitation, his action had undoubtedly arouse my curiosity.

Maybe I just needed the little stuff to make myself happy.

The beautiful boy smiled so brightly,he said,"I hope it can bring back your smile!"
I was quite at a loss to reply,a few seconds later,I chuckled.
"Thanks cutie, your gift has made my day."The little boy seemed happy and then he waved amiably and ran away.

I stood at the same place and my mind started to flow away.
A light rain began to fall,I could hardly see his silhouette disappeared at the street corner. I couldn't tell the reason, but at the moment, warmth filled up my mind.
"Today is still a good day."I said to myself,in such an earnest voice. Then I continued my pace to the cafe.

-

"Ding...Ring.."The aeolian bells were ringing as I opened the door of cafe.
I heard a familiar voice rang in my ear.
"Hey,it has been ages not seeing you here."Jane, the owner of the cafe greeted me with a warm smile.
I frowned,"It's my boss's fault. He almost drives me crazy."Both of us laughed, and I then followed Jane to a round table near a French window,my favorite seat in the cafe."So, hot Mocha with peanut butter waffle?"Jane stood by my side and asked. I nodded and smile,"Same old taste."

Suddenly,I noticed that the boy whom I just met sat at the counter. I kept appraising the boy,"Who is that boy?"Jane followed my sight, she then curved up lips and answered."He is my son."
I was shocked.
"Oh,my mind stuck. But I remember last time he just about to learn how to walk."
Jane raised her eyebrow,"It was two years ago,Kay."

Jane asked me to wait for few minutes and later we could have a talk.

-
Two cups of Mocha and a plate of mouthwatering waffle were served on my table.

Jane sat down in front of me, the little boy also followed her to my table and he then said hi to me."You look better now!"
He said amazingly, Jane looked curiously at me and so I told her the whole story.

"See how the fate brings surprises to people."She pat on her boy head and her eyes were startling.
We chuckled at the same time.

"Kay,you can just tell me anything, you know I'm always here."
Jane looked into my eyes.

She has been through so many in the yesteryears, and luckily in the end she is still surrounded by blesses.

"I've wasted so much time sitting on my hands, and imagine what could have been."
I decided to pour out everything, just as the same way when we were young.
