Short short story- The forest
Tuesday, May 22, 2018
I was lost.
The sunlight penetrated through the trees and fall on me.
I must find him.
My
inner voice kept knocking on my heart door and so I found myself gained the
courage to continue my pace, towards an unknown direction.
Years ago I moved away from this beautiful village and bidding
farewell to this mysterious forest. I was reluctant to go, but the one who
stayed in the forest embraced my fear and tears, he said “see you until the day
we meet again. ”
The wind breezed, as I recalled back to the days we spent
together.
------------------------------------------
The days I spent my whole afternoon in the forest, escaped from granny’s nagging and endless homework, got a wooden stick in my hand and explored the forest with him.
There was a silhouette, whispered softly to me in every scene of my dreams.

There was a silhouette, whispered softly to me in every scene of my dreams.
He laughed uncontrollably, we talked to each other a lot,
like long-lost friends or maybe friends before this life. The forest was
serene, filled with smells of wet woods.
During the days, we could hear sounds coming from every corners, birds were chatting on top of us, animals were hiding between the trees while the insects happily doing their stuffs.

And so I kept walking, groping for the place appeared in my dreams these days.

And so I kept walking, groping for the place appeared in my dreams these days.
There was a wooden house in front of me. A house once
surrounded by yellow flowers and soft sounds from guitar strings.
I took a deep breath.
Finally, I found him.
I left flowers and sat down on the land of forest.
There was his picture on a silent stone, the one with an
angelic smile and mischievous blue eyes.
He once told me that he would be the guardian of the forest.
Now he is.
